The tour sets off from San Ignacio at about 7:30 a.m. in our private air-conditioned vehicle to the Guatemalan border, where all affairs are taken care of by our driver. We leave the border and cross into Guatemala. En route to Tikal we stop at El Remate to take pictures of the immense blue lagoon. After a quick stop at a local arts and crafts gift shop, we proceed to Tikal, where we have lunch at one of the onsite restaurants before beginning our touring. At the site, there is the option to tour with a hired park guide who is trained and well versed in the history and the archaeology of the site. If you choose to not get a guide, you may purchase a guidebook that includes important site information. After viewing main structures and stelae, we turn our attention to the model and explore the museum. We then return to San Ignacio, arriving there at approximately 6:30 p.m.
