Pongo de Mainique

The Pongo de Mainique is a 50-yard-wide, two-mile-long canyon through which flows the mighty Urubamba River. This is really a fantastic opportunity for Medics Away students to get deep into the jungle and go on a trip that few would have done before them. This is one of the more expensive trips, but for 8 days worth of adventure, you’re really going to get your moneys worth.

Manu

This expedition takes you into the heart of the rainforest at Manu with many bird and animal watching opportunities. All transefers are included. Manu is one of the ‘must do’s’ when you are in Peru. The Manu National Park is probably the most biologically diverse and protected parks on the planet, with 2 million hectares (4.5 million acres) of territory rich in flora and fauna species, and a variety of habitats including high Andes, cloud forests and lowland tropical rain forests.

Puerto Maldonado

For those Medics Away students who want a quick trip into the deep jungle, staying in a lodge in the Tambopata Reserve, with great opportunities for wildlife watching, walks canopy walking in the jungle and a visit to an ox bow lake to see giant otters, this trip is perfect for you.

Over Night A.T.M. Tour

We lead you through thick jungle paths, intricate labyrinths of beautifully formed wet and dry limestone caves that reveal the secrets of a lost underworld. Our adventure includes an adrenaline rushing rappel descent through jungle canopy and camping to the echoes of the night forest.

Barton River Cave Canoeing

Canoeing really is the sport of gentlemen. Treat yourself to all that comfort and directional control (not like those crazed tubers) and get yourself a vessel which demands international acclaim. Cave Tubing

Ever wanted to hike a limestone mountain, lie in an inner tube of tractor tyre, float down a jungle stream, go through rapids, learn some geology, be surrounded by other young adventurers splashing water at you, travel through caves, see some bats and eat a healthy lunch.
